keypad and outputs
Posted by v1rtu0s1ty on 08/14/2009 03:17 AM

How can I use my keypad to manually turn on/off OUTPUTs on my M1RB? This is what I would like to happen. If I press 01 on my keypad, it will TURN ON output 9. If I press 01 again, it will TURN OFF output 9. Thanks, Ron

Entering 01 on the keypad will not cause the outputs to change state but there are several options:

#1 Automation Menu through the keypad
* From the keypad press the ELK Key, screen should display 1-View/Control Automation Fncts.
* Press the Right Arrow Key
* Press the 3 Key, Screen should display 3-Outputs
* Press the Right Arrow Key and then enter the Output number for example 009.
* To Toggle the state of the output press the "#" key

#2 Using a Function or F Key on the keypad
* In ELK-RP Create a rule
Whenever F4 (for example)on Keypad 1
Then Toggle Output 9

#3 Using a 4-Digit Code and Access
* In ELK-RP Create a New User assigning a 4-Digit Code and checking Access as the only Arming Authorization
* Create the following Rule
Whenever Access ON Keypad 1
Then Toggle Output 9
* In this rule each time you enter your 4 digit Access Code Output 9 will change states

Which option should I use if I am toggling 5 outputs(9 to 13)?

Do you need all 5 Outputs to Toggle at the same time? Either option will work #1 will require a few more key strokes, #2 and #3 will require adding additionl Then Toggle Output X.

Actually I tried option 1 and that is enough for me. I am so so happy. And no, I don't need to turn each output at the same time. :D By the way, I am using the Elk power adapter, m1rb and an 3/4" Orbit sprinkler valve. I have 5 sprinkler valves. I'm able to power 2 sprinkler valves at the same time. I would just like to know how many valves I can power on although I am aware that water flow won't be strong enough? I just need it for my own information and knowledge. Oh, one more. I have rules to turn on each valve every morning. However, here in our city, we are only allowed to water during dates that ends in an odd number like 5, 7 , 19, 27, etc. I am not allowed to water during even days. The Village of Huntley used our home address as reference. Since my home address is ending in an odd number, I am only allowed to water during dates ending in odd number. Anyways, how do I make a rule so that it will only execute the rule during odd days? Thanks!
