Apparent IP232 and M1XSP Death
Posted by rmorten on 09/18/2012 10:13 PM

Both my ELK-IP232 and ELK-M1XSP stopped working at the same time. The IP232 won't power up and the M1XSP won't communicate properly; the failures appear to be related since both failed at the same time. The jibberish that is displayed across the screen when connected to the M1XSP appears as if the baud rate is set incorrectly but it is 9600 N81 on both the test PC and the M1XSP. It is probably worthy of note that M1G is still able to connect and communicate to the M1XSP. The M1XSP displays the following version information: Addr Model HW Ver Boot Ver FW Ver Additional Info 1 M1XSP 0.3 1.0.1 10.0.50 Standard Firmware I have looked but there don't seem to be any firmware updates for the M1XSP; I suspect this is some sort of hardware failure on the RS-232 circuitry anyway so firmware is unlikely to solve this issue.
