Different Alarm types for different Zones
Posted by jdroog01 on 11/29/2010 01:13 AM

Hello all, just installed the M1G into my current house (planning on building, so I bought this system to learn the ropes...). I've been doing X-10 for a few years now...but am SOLD on the M1G. I want to have a different alarm go off if an alternate zone is violated. i.e., the interior zone runs of the traditional output 2, but I'd like an exterior backyard zone to chirp a different siren and not the main one...not even send to the monitoring station. If the interior zone is violated, the monitoring station will get notice, the exterior, no notice will be sent, just noise and strobe for deterent. CAn anyone help?

You could simply create a rule that if zone x is violated, then turn on output x for x seconds. The output would need to be hooked to a relay that turned on the siren for whatever time frame you wanted. You also may want to try www.cocoontech.com, and post your question there as well.
