E-mail messages - some tips
Posted by petegregar76 on 07/07/2010 11:51 PM

I currently have some rules on my Elk system to send me an Alert to my e-mail. But is there a way to set the subject or text in the e-mail to detail what the alert actually is?

I think that'd be very useful as well. +1

This is not a direct solution to your question. It's a workaround but I'm getting emails and text messages sent to my phone when a rule like the following executes: WHENEVER Area One (Area 1) ARMED STATE BECOMES DISARMED AND THE LAST USER WAS Little Johnny (User 2) THEN ARM AREA(S) 1 TO STAY IMMEDIATELY THEN DIAL Google Voice Number (8885551234) AND ANNOUNCE Miscellaneous 1 (vm239) My Google Voice account is configured to transcribe the voice mail message from speech to text and to email me and SMS me the transcribed message. I'm doing this without the TCP/IP expansion module. My Elk M1 Gold is simply calling my Google Voice number. Interacting with Google Voice opens up a lot of new possibilities...
