M1G changed user code mysteriously
Posted by GTJill on 02/10/2010 02:32 PM

This has happened twice in the past month. The code for User 1 on my M1G has mysteriously changed by one bit. The second digit changed from a "5" to a "4". I checked the log to make sure there was no remote programming. Nobody else has access to my panel to make a change. At the time, it was running 5.1.20. I've upgraded to 5.1.24 in hopes that the problem doesn't exist in this version. Has anyone ever seen such strange behavior?

On the keypad do you receive any error message for example EEprom Fault? In ELK-RP under Users right click on the User and Remove. Once removed right click on Users and Create new User and send to control.

I haven't seen any error, such as the EEPROM fault. Each time this happened, I've simply let the RP's "check for conflicts" process send the correct value to the control. It hasn't happened since I've upgraded to 5.1.24 (~1 month), but if it does happen I can try deleting and re-creating the user. Though I'm not sure how much I'll to have to repair in the automation rules where I've referenced the user.

This happened to me again! Three times in a week, it changed the second digit from a "5" to a "4". I'd change it back, but it kept changing. Finally, I left it as a "4" and let it go for a couple weeks. It stayed as a "4". Currently running 5.2.6 on the M1G. Still no errors, such as EEprom fault. Though today my monitoring company called to tell me that the M1G sent them a signal with the wrong account number! Their tech will be calling me back to investigate.

Did or have you noticed an EEProm Fault entries in the LOG? If'd like to sent me your M1 we'll be glad to evaluate.

I have one better for you. My code quits working sometimes. It hasn't change, key fobs keep working, my code just quits. It takes me forever to get it working again. Any thoughts?

Never any EEPROM faults in the log. No other strange behavior. The monitoring company had me change to a different protocol to reduce errors and there's been no repeat of that problem. My work-around to the code changing is to simply not use User 01.
