Trigger Alarm Event from Analog Zone
Posted by ehill on 01/31/2010 07:38 PM

Hi,

How can an alarm event be triggered from an analog zone?

For example, when the voltage is X, trigger a 1013 (Water Alarm)?

I thought of a kludge, but it requires the wasting of an output, and another input:

Physically wire Output 4 to an Input. Then, define that Input as a "Water Alarm 24 hr."

The rule would be defined as:

WHENEVER EVERY 15 SECONDS

AND Analog Test (Zn 17) IS GREATER THAN ANALOG VALUE 7.8 VOLTS

THEN TURN Water Alarm (Out 4) ON

Water Alarm (Out 4) would turn on, and trigger the Input defined as a "Water Alarm 24 hr" zone. That would trigger the actual Water Alarm.

I must be missing something. There has to be an easier way that doesn't waste physical zones.

Thanks.

Eric
