HAI RC 100/ ELK RMS set point problem
Posted by mccoy1000 on 01/25/2010 09:17 PM

Using elk rm, with all of my rc-100's i cant adjust the temp within 3 degrees of each setting... for instance if Cool setpoint is 65, I can only adjust heat up to 62 or down to 68, I cant "cross" 63/64/65/66/67 unless i do it at the stat. same with heat setpoint, cool can only be adjusted within 3 degrees. this is with Heat mode, cool mood OR auto mode..... any ideas?

There must always be a certain amount of separation between the Cooling and Heating Set points so that in the Auto Mode the HVAC system doesn't get into an endless loop. When adjusting the set points through the thermostat you'll notice you are able to adjust passed the opposite set point but once you exit the mode the set points will still have x degrees of separation even though you only adjusted one setting. By design in the ELK-RM software you can only adjust the setting to within 3 degrees of the opposite set point to maintain the necessary amount of separation.
