ETA on Windows 7 support?
Posted by jakace on 12/23/2009 07:02 PM

Any update on when elkRP will support Windows 7? This is a BIG deal for many people as they were forced to move to Vista due to corporate requirements, and since vista is such a hole, are quick to adopt windows 7. The first Windows 7 beta was out over a year ago. Thanks!

ELK-RP 1.6.26 has been tested on Windows 7 and seems to install and run without any problem

Works fine for me on Windows 7. Now I'm waiting for version 2 support for Windows 7.

I have problems editing rules with ElkRP on Windows 7. The save/cancel buttons on the rule editor form are missing. Is there a work around for this?

Close the RP Software
Right click on any blank area on your Desktop
Click Properties
Click Settings
Click Advanced and make sure the DPI Settings is set to Normal 96

I had a problem when running elkrp on windows 7. I fixed this by running it as an admin.

I got it running on 64 bit windows 7 but: 1. It will not print reports and crashes every time I try. Looks like it is trying to load the wrong, or no, DLL files for reports. 2. The windows for editing rules are still messed up and virtually all of the condition windows for THEN statements that relate to functions are clipped/cropped and cannot read text in same.

Re the display, did you try Brad's suggestions above about the DPI setting?

Re the printing, RP uses Crystal Reports for this. It sounds like a Crystal DLL is missing or not registered. Run the ElkRP installer again and choose "REPAIR." If that doesn't work, back up the accounts database (ElkAccts2.mdb) and ops database (Ops2.mdb), then uninstall ElkRP, and re-install it. Copy your databases back. If that still doesn't work, call Elk Tech Support for help.
